The Celestial Transcendence: A Recap
The Celestial Transcendence presented the European VALORANT scene with a chance to shine and show their excellence at the sport they love most.
29 teams entered the fray in our biggest hosted tournament yet, with €500 distributed between the top four teams at the conclusion of the weekend.
The weekend started off with a closely contested first streamed match between 5Yutes and KARAYIP KORSANLARI, with the Turkish side taking the 13-10 victory after a closely contested match on Icebox. Day 1 also saw a nail biting showdown between AW3 Esports and THE CHS go down to the wire with the Norwegian organisation falling just short of moving on to the Upper Bracket Semifinals (11-13).
To finish off the first day of competition, Gaming Nexus and Last Gate Esports took to the servers to contest a Best of 3 series with a Upper Bracket Final place at stake! After two absolute banger maps, it was the squad of Last Gate who managed to pull through (15-13, 13-10) and secure themselves a top three finish.
We were in for a treat on Championship Sunday. High-flying Cristo Ronaldo started off the day against the stone cold Last Gate Esports in the Upper Bracket Final. After three spectacular maps, it was Last Gate who got the job done in overtime on Bind (13-11, 8-13, 15-13) to clinch a spot in the Grand Final and send the Lithuanian side of Cristo Ronaldo to the Lower Bracket.
It was there where the damaged tournament favourites ran into a red-hot Karagümrük Espor. The Turkish side hoped to ride the back of three convincing Lower Bracket wins and gave it a good go, but ultimately fell to Cristo Ronaldo after the series went all the way to Icebox (8-13, 13-9, 8-13).
The Grand Final was set. A rematch between Last Gate Esports and Cristo Ronaldo to decide the championship. Both teams had secured themselves a good slice of the prize pool and at this point, it was all about glory. Last Gate entered the Grand Final with a one-game advantage and had to win just one map to take the title.
But it were the Lithuanians who came out firing and gave their opponents no room to breathe! Cristo Ronaldo dominated Haven 13-3 before securing a convincing 13-6 win on Ascent, thus becoming your Celestial Transcendence Opening Event Champions!
It was a special event for us at Sentient and our beloved sponsor, Stoned. We thoroughly enjoyed putting this on for all of you, and we hope to see you soon for our next tournament!
